Article 1 Collection and storage of personal data

When using our website the following data are logged whose storage serves exclusively internal system-related and statistical purposes. Name of the pages accessed, the browser used, the operating system and the querying domain, date and time of access, search engines used, names of downloaded files and your IP address. All data about the utilisation, in particular also your IP address, are deleted with the expiry of the statutory retention periods at the latest.

Additional personal information is only collected if you provide this to us voluntarily, for example, during an enquiry or registration.

You need to register to use our internet portal. In the process all data we require for executing and handling orders will be queried: Your full name or full company name together with the person of the authorised representative, your email address, your address (invoice, and where different, delivery address) and, where applicable, your telephone number (e.g. if coordination of a delivery date will be necessary on short notice). You must also choose a user name and password, both of which simplify your login without renewed data input. We save the data provided by you in order to open a customer account through which we record, execute and process your orders. We retain your data for subsequent orders (registration) as long as you remain registered. You have the right at any time to view, correct or delete your registration data. We delete your registration with us if the deletion is mandated by law or two years after executing your last order at the latest.

Article 2 Utilisation, disclosure and deletion of personal data

We utilise the personal data provided by you to respond to your enquiries, process your order, check your credit status and for the technical administration of the website.

Your personal data are only disclosed to third parties if the disclosure is necessary for the purpose of contract execution or invoicing or to collection of charges or if you gave your explicit consent. It might also be necessary for us to disclose your address and order data to suppliers for order which are delivered to you directly ex factory. Our suppliers only receive the information required to discharge their respective obligations. No other utilisation of the information is permitted. We are also entitled to disclose the personal data for debt collection purposes. If we provide advance performances for an order (for example, when buying against invoice), we may have the identity and credit worthiness of the customer only checked by a service provider.

We also do not exclude the disclosure of anonymised utilisation data for purposes of market research. This excludes any identification of users.

We point out that upon the instruction by the responsible authority we are entitled in individual cases to provide information about data inasmuch as this is necessary for the purpose of criminal proceedings, crime prevention by the police authorities of the states, meeting the statutory obligations of the federal and state authorities for the protection of the constitution, the Federal Intelligence Service or the Military Counterintelligence Service or to enforce intellectual property rights.

Article 3 Security information

We have taken a multitude of security measures to adequately protect your personal information within a reasonable scope.

Our databases are protected by physical and technical as well as procedural measures restricting access to the information to specially authorised persons in accordance with this data protection declaration. Our information systems are located behind a software firewall to prevent access from other networks connected to the internet. Only employees requiring the information to meet a specific task are given access to your personal information. Our employees are trained in security and data protection practices.

If personal information is collected through our website, it is transferred encrypted using the industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or account information, are encrypted for additional protection.

You should never disclose your password for accessing our website to third parties and should change your password regularly. After leaving our site you should log out and close your browser to prevent unauthorised users from gaining access to your user account. In case of communication by email we cannot guarantee complete data security.
